Porsche Carrera Cup Asia kicks off the season opener Round 1 race at Shanghai International Circuit, where 28 new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Type 991 II) cars lined up on the grid for the first time.
Chris van der Drift of Team Formax had a respectable P3 start from the grid, and immediately charged hard in pursuit for the lead. A safety car period at Lap 6 however disrupted his momentum and he eventually settled and crossed the line 3rd.
Suttiluck Buncharoen of True Visions Motorsport Thailand of the Pro-Am class also started his season opener race with a bang. Starting the race from a distant P4, he drove consistently and charged hard when the pilots in from of him encountered incidences to eventually crossed the line to clinch 2nd spot on the podium.
